Community Service Events

National Public Lands Day

Saturday, September 24th, Mayor Dan Comerford, Commissioner Chip Block, Captain John Pruitt and several Colony residents joined approximately 40 volunteers and cleaned up the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area (JILONA).  A dumpster full of trash, broken bottles, plastic, rope, fishing line and invasive plant-life was removed from the property along the west side of the intra-coastal waterway, both north and south of the bridge.  This was an excellent community service project and a big "Thank you" goes out to all Colony residents who participated.  The photos below show the mountain of bags of trash that was removed from the natural area.
