Today is the beginning of Hurricane Season 2023.
Today begins the Atlantic Hurricane Season and NOAA predicts 12 to 17 named storms and 5 to 9 hurricanes, with one to four major hurricanes. Now is the time to make sure your property is storm ready. Town ordinance requires you to remove all coconuts from trees and prune dead branches. If you are leaving for the season, make sure you secure all outdoor items that can become airborne projectiles in high winds. Check in with Town Hall and let them know you are leaving and securing your home. Don't wait until the last minute to prepare. Hurricane season ends November 30th. Stay up to date on tropical weather reports. Thank you for making preparations early in case our area experiences a storm this year.
