The Building Department is responsible for all permitting efforts in the Town. The Building Department provides records, issues permits, and performs building inspections. A major focus of the division is to ensure that residential buildings and structures comply with the Florida Building Code (FBC) and all other applicable laws and ordinances.
Building Official Buck Evans reviews and approves all permits before they are issued. He also conducts inspections to ensure that the work being done meets all FBC and Town Ordinances. At the completion of a new construction project, the Building Official will issue the Certificate of Occupancy.
Planning and Zoning Coordinator Dr. Bill Whiteford reviews all building plans before the Building Official reviews and approves the permit to make sure the structure conforms with zoning codes and ordinances. He also coordinates all applications to the Building and Zoning Committee, which meets monthly to review plans for new construction and major renovations.
The Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony's Building Department utilizes the My Government Online (MGO) platform. Please create an account to submit your permits, schedule inspections and for contractor registrations.
Same day inspections are not allowed.
The Building Department at Jupiter Inlet Colony does not accept the Universal County-Wide/Municipal Building Permit application form.
