Code Enforcement

The primary function of Code Enforcement in a community is to help maintain property values by enforcing town codes as they pertain to nuisances and beautification.  Code Officers enforce administrative and civil codes and ordinances, while Police Officers primarily enforce criminal laws and infractions.

The Village of Tequesta Code Enforcement Department is now servicing the Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony.  If you have any questions or complaints regarding Code Enforcement, please call the Code Enforcement Department at (561) 768-0458.

Per Statute 162.06 (b) A code inspector may not initiate enforcement proceedings for a potential violation of a duly enacted code or ordinance by way of an anonymous complaint. A person who reports a potential violation of a code or an ordinance must provide his or her name and address to the respective local government before an enforcement proceeding may occur. This paragraph does not apply if the code inspector has reason to believe that the violation presents an imminent threat to public health, safety, or welfare or imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.
