JIC Public Statement

The Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony is filled with thoughtful, compassionate, and charitable residents who care deeply about our community and those who serve it.  There is no tolerance for discrimination of any kind in our Town. The Town maintains and strictly enforces policies prohibiting discrimination or retaliation of any kind in the workplace, including when making hiring and other employment related decisions.  As the Town’s recently appointed Mayor and long-time resident, I am fully committed to strictly enforcing these policies and taking prompt remedial action against anyone who falls short of our standards.

While I cannot specifically comment on any active litigation matters, the Town vehemently disputes that it discriminated against any employees and denies any alleged improprieties in connection with its recent selection of its new Chief of Police.  The Town’s process for selecting its new Chief of Police was open, fair, and fully transparent.  The selection committee chose the best person for the job and did not consider race or any other prohibited factors in making its decision.  Any suggestion otherwise is patently false.  The Town looks forward to the opportunity to defend the false allegations made against it.
