On September 28, 2023, Officer Richard Roberts responded to the inlet area at 89 Lighthouse Dr for a report of a distressed paddle boarder.
Upon arrival, Officer Roberts located the paddle boarder clinging to a dock piling, exhausted from paddling against the strong outgoing current. Officer Roberts pulled the paddle boarder from the water onto the dock quite possibly saving him from being swept back into the ocean. Thankfully the paddle boarder was not injured and was able to retrieve his board with the help of Officer Roberts later that day. We commend Officer Roberts for his quick thinking and professional actions.
